The Procter & Gamble Company [NYSE: PG] ist ein US-amerikanischer, in 70 Ländern vertretener Konsumgüter-Konzern mit Hauptsitz in Cincinnati im US-Bundesstaat Ohio.[2]

Mit einem Umsatz von 66,4 Milliarden US-Dollar, bei einem Gewinn von 10,1 Mrd. USD, steht Procter & Gamble laut Forbes Global 2000 auf Platz 55 der weltgrößten Unternehmen (Stand: GJ 2017). Das Unternehmen kam Anfang 2018 auf eine Marktkapitalisierung von 184,5 Mrd. USD.[3]

Ich würde nach den Quartalszahlen Mitte Oktober zwar nicht von Turnaround sprechen, aber die Skepsis im Markt wurde mal deutlich beiseite geschoben.

Das Geschäftsjahr 2018 (das bei PG immer bis zum 30.6. geht) war ja nicht besonders gut. Umsatzwachstum von nur einem Prozent und eine FY-Guidance, die ein Umsatzwachstum von 0-1% in Aussicht gestellt hat.

So gesehen war das Umsatzwachstum in Q1/2019 schon überraschend stark. +4%. Zum Vergleich:

Q1/2019: +4%
Q4/2018: +1%
Q3/2018: +1%
Q2/2018: +2%
Q1/2018: +1%

Also schon ein ansehnlicher Sprung im Umsatzwachstum. Das stärkste Umsatzwachstum seit fünf Jahren. Und das gefällt mir persönlich besonders gut. Denn wie ich zuletzt bei den FY2018-Zahlen kritisiert habe, dass die Aussagen zum Kostensparen und Konzern schlanker gestalten auf mich wenig inspirierend klangen, sieht man jetzt, dass neben den Kostensparmaßnahmen der Umbau des Konzerns von David Tayler sich schon langsam auszuzahlen scheint. Denn neben Kostensparmaßnahmen wurde auch das Onlinegeschäft signifikant ausgebaut und das Markenportfolio verjüngt.

Ich schätze der FY2019-Ausblick verbunden mit dem guten Umsatz- und Preiswachstum in den einzelnen Sparten kam so gut an beim Markt heute. Nachdem PG ja dieses Jahr in der Kursentwicklung deutlich hinter dem S&P500 zurück lag und liegt.

PG geht jetzt für FY2019 von einem Umsatzwachstum von +2% bis +3% aus. EPS-Wachstum geben sie unverändert mit +3% bis +8% an. Dividenden geben sie mit „über 7 Mrd. USD“ an. Das lässt Raum für Spekulationen für ein großzügigeres Dividendenwachstum in diesem Geschäftsjahr als bisher. Zuletzt waren es +4%. Aktienrückkauf ebenfalls angekündigt mit bis zu 5 Mrd. USD.

Ein ziemlich starker Auftakt in ein hoffentlich richtungsweisendes Geschäftsjahr 2019 für Procter & Gamble. Strategie war und ist klar: Einfach weiterhalten. [Bild: tup.gif]

Beim Eingehen meiner Position habe ich vom Kursrückgang in diesem Jahr sehr profitiert. PG ist am 29. März diesen Jahres in mein Depot gekommen. Auf Eurobasis ist die Position inklusive Dividenden jetzt 27,5% vorne.

Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) tracks slightly higher after the company tops estimates on both lines of its FQ2 report and issues strong guidance.

Organic growth was up 4% in Q4 to top the consensus estimate for a 2.6% gain, led by the Beauty (+8%) and Health Care (+5%) segments.

Gross margin was 49.6% of sales vs. 49.9% consensus. Operating margin was 22.8% of sales vs. 23.2% consensus.

"Our focus on superiority, productivity and improving P&G’s organization and culture is delivering improved results despite a challenging competitive and macroeconomic environment," sums Procter & Gamble CEO David Taylor on the quarter.

Looking ahead, P&G expects all-in FY19 sales growth to be -1% to +1% and EPS growth of +3% to +8%.

Organic sales rose 5% from last year, the company said, but it also noted that its core operating margin shrank to 19.9%.

Procter & Gamble (PG) Tops Q2 Earnings Estimates

Procter & Gamble (PG) came out with quarterly earnings of $1.42 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.37 per share. This compares to earnings of $1.25 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of 3.65%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this world's largest consumer products maker would post earnings of $1.24 per share when it actually produced earnings of $1.37, delivering a surprise of 10.48%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates four times.

P&G, which belongs to the Zacks Soap and Cleaning Materials industry, posted revenues of $18.24 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 0.54%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $17.44 billion.
