Microsoft: Fiscal 2Q Earnings Snapshot
REDMOND, Wash. (AP) _ Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $8.42 billion, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Redmond, Washington-based company said it had profit of $1.08 per share. Earnings, adjusted for pretax expenses, were $1.10 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 14 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.09 per share.
The software maker posted revenue of $32.47 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Twelve analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $32.45 billion.
