AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (AVB) (the “Company”) reported today that Net Income Attributable to Common Stockholders for the three months ended December 31, 2018 was $385,734,000. This resulted in an increase in Earnings per Share – diluted (“EPS”) of 62.2% to $2.79 for the three months ended December 31, 2018, from $1.72 for the prior year period.

AvalonBay's (AVB) Q3 FFO Misses, Revenues Beat Estimates

AvalonBay Communities, Inc.’s AVB third-quarter 2019 core funds from operations (FFO) per share of $2.34 increased 2.6% year over year. However, the figure missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate by a penny.

This year-over-year growth indicates increase in average rental rates, while economic occupancy registered a decline.

Total revenues of $587.6 million were up 2% year over year. The revenue figure also surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $585.9 million.

AvalonBay Communities (AVB) Q4 FFO Top Estimates

AvalonBay Communities (AVB) came out with quarterly funds from operations (FFO) of $2.43 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.40 per share. This compares to FFO of $2.31 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an FFO surprise of 1.25%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this apartment building owner would post FFO of $2.35 per share when it actually produced FFO of $2.34, delivering a surprise of -0.43%.
