GoPro CEO: There was no ‘boogeyman’ this holiday quarter

Company has historically stumbled in the fourth quarter, but CEO says this latest period was different

For the first time in years, GoPro Inc. came to CES without a cloud of layoffs, product-line exits or holiday-season woes.

GoPro GPRO,  has a history of flubbing its December quarter and having to answer for it at the annual technology conference, but this year the company put on a drama-free show.

“The boogeyman a lot of people were worried would blow up our fourth quarter didn’t happen,” Chief Executive Nick Woodman told MarketWatch. “No news is good news for GoPro at CES.”

GoPro (GPRO) Q4 Earnings and Revenues Beat Estimates

GoPro (GPRO) came out with quarterly earnings of $0.30 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.26 per share. This compares to loss of $0.30 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of 15.38%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this action video camera maker would post a loss of $0.07 per share when it actually produced a loss of $0.04, delivering a surprise of 42.86%.

GoPro, which belongs to the Zacks Audio Video Production industry, posted revenues of $377.38 million for the quarter ended December 2018, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 0.39%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $334.80 million.

GoPro (GPRO) Reports Q1 Loss, Tops Revenue Estimates

GoPro (GPRO) came out with a quarterly loss of $0.07 per share versus the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of $0.09. This compares to loss of $0.34 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of 22.22%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this action video camera maker would post earnings of $0.26 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.30, delivering a surprise of 15.38%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates four times.

GoPro, which belongs to the Zacks Audio Video Production industry, posted revenues of $242.71 million for the quarter ended March 2019, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 3.49%. GoPro überzeugt bei Umsatz und Gewinn

Für GoPro ist das letzte Quartal 2021 mit einem EPS von 0,41 US-Dollar zu Ende gegangen. Damit verdiente das Unternehmen je Aktie mehr als von Analysten erwartet, die Schätzungen hatten sich auf 0,352 USD-Dollar je Anteilsschein belaufen, nach 0,390 US-Dollar je Aktie vor Jahresfrist.
