Bloomberg reports a drop in December Saudi oil exports

Oil futures moved sharply higher Wednesday, shaking off earlier losses after a report of a drop in December crude exports from Saudi Arabia, as the new year marked the start of output cuts by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies.

West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery CLG9, +3.06% climbed by $1.41, or 3.1%, to $46.82 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Ich hätte ja gesagt Veröffentlichung vom Öl-Lagerbestand (ist ja normal jeden Mittwoch) aber die gibts diese Woche erst am Freitag.
Ölpreise geben nach Schub wieder deutlich nach

Die Ölpreise sind nach dem Schub am Vortag deutlich gesunken. Ein Barrel der Nordseesorte Brent (159 Liter) kostete am Morgen 54,25 US-Dollar. Das waren 66 Cent weniger als am Vortag. Der Preis für ein Barrel der US-Sorte WTI fiel um 98 Cent auf 45,56 Dollar.

EIA reports little change to U.S. crude supply for a second week in a row

The Energy Information Administration reported Friday that domestic crude supplies barely budged for the week ended Dec. 28, adding just 7,000 barrels to stand at 441.4 million barrels. They fell by 46,000 barrels for the week ended Dec. 21.

February West Texas Intermediate crude CLG9, was up $1.61, or 3.4%, at $48.70 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, down from $48.98 before the data.

Gut zu sehen ist, wie im Bereich von 50 USD mehr Calls aufgebaut werden, während sich die Zahl der im Geld liegenden Puts bei 50 USD kaum ändert. Vermutlich wird sich der Kurs zu diesem Bereich bewegen.

Saudi Arabia plans to cut its crude exports by 800,000 barrels a day from around 7.9 million barrels a day in November, in a move aimed at lifting prices above $80 a barrel, The Wall Street Journal reported,

WTI crude for February delivery CLG9, added 56 cents, or 1.2%, to settle at $48.52 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, which was well below the session’s high of $49.79. The front-month contract rose 5.8% for last week, according to Dow Jones Market Data.

Also Monday, however, Goldman Sachs cut its outlook on spot prices for Brent and WTI. It expects an average of $62.50 a barrel for Brent, down from a previous forecast of $70, and an average of $55.50 for West Texas Intermediate, down from $64.50.

OPEC oil production drops in December to a 6-month low: report

Oil production from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries fell by 630,000 barrels a day to a six-month low of 32.43 million barrels in December from a month earlier, according to an S&P Global Platts survey released Tuesday.

Oil tallies longest streak of gains in about 18 months

WTI futures gain for a 7th straight session

Oil futures Tuesday finished higher for a seventh straight session, the longest run of gains in roughly 18 months, with prices lifted by global efforts to curb crude output, as well as measured optimism around U.S.-China trade talks.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil for February delivery CLG9, +2.68% rose $1.26, or 2.6%, to settle at $49.78 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange—the highest finish for a front-month contract since Dec. 17, according to Dow Jones Market Data. Futures for the U.S. benchmark contract posted the lengthiest win streak since an eight-session period ended July 3, 2017.

Global benchmark March Brent crude UK:LCOG9 added $1.39, or 2.4%, to $58.72 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe, which also marks the longest string of gains in about 18 months.

Öl: Preise ziehen weiter an – WTI wieder über 50 Dollar

Die Ölpreise sind am Mittwoch im Zuge einer allgemein freundlichen Stimmung an den Finanzmärkten gestiegen. Hinweise auf eine Entspannung im Handelsstreit zwischen den USA und China ließen den Preis für US-Öl erstmals seit Dezember wieder über die Marke von 50 US-Dollar steigen. Der Preis für ein Barrel der US-Sorte WTI stieg um 71 Cent auf 50,49 Dollar. Ein Barrel der Nordseesorte Brent (159 Liter) kostete am Morgen 59,48 US-Dollar. Das waren 76 Cent mehr als am Vortag.
