Barrick-Randgold Merger Consummated as Trading Starts in New Company’s Shares

NEW YORK and TORONTO, Jan. 02, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Trading in the shares of the new company created by the merger of Barrick Gold and Randgold Resources started at the opening of business on the New York and Toronto Stock Exchanges this morning. The ringing of the opening bell at the NYSE was performed by the company’s executive chairman, John Thornton, accompanied by the president and chief executive officer, Mark Bristow.

The new company is still known as Barrick but its trading symbol on the NYSE will change to GOLD, the ticker formerly held by Randgold on NASDAQ. On the TSX, the ticker remains ABX.

Barrick Gold (GOLD) Matches Q4 Earnings Estimates

Barrick Gold (GOLD) came out with quarterly earnings of $0.06 per share, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate. This compares to earnings of $0.22 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

A quarter ago, it was expected that this gold and copper mining company would post earnings of $0.06 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.08, delivering a surprise of 33.33%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates just once.

Barrick Gold, which belongs to the Zacks Mining - Gold industry, posted revenues of $1.90 billion for the quarter ended December 2018, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 1.75%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $2.23 billion. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates three times over the last four quarters.

Die Goldminen hatten gestern einen schweren Stand. Konnten die Minen am Montag noch zulegen als der Goldpreis nachgab, so bot sich gestern das umgekehrte Bild: Gold konnte die Verluste wieder wettmachen, dafür präsentierten sich die Goldminen schwach. Auch das Papier des weltgrößten Goldproduzenten Barrick Gold gab gestern nach. Dabei hatte der Konzern eigentlich gute Neuigkeiten im Gepäck.

Ich sehe eine umgekehrte SKS formation mit dem Kopf am 5.6., aber eigentlich hängt wohl der Preis für Barrick vom Goldpreis ab.

Die Aktie des weltweit zweitgrößten Goldproduzenten Barrick Gold konnte sich gestern mit dem gesamten Minensektor von den Verlusten des Vortages erholen. Am Ende des Handels näherte sich das Papier bereits wieder dem Jahreshoch. Heute kommen gute Neuigkeiten aus Papua-Neuguinea. Ein Gericht entschied in einer Streitfrage zugunsten von Barrick Gold.

Der Chart sieht sehr gesund aus :) Gold hat heute die 2000$ Marke durchbrochen. wenn ich mir aber den Verlauf Gold zu Barrick angucke, sollte Barrick eigentlich höher stehen. Vielleicht Wenn das Problem in Papua Neuguinea endgültig gelöst wird. Ich bin mit einem KO Zertifikat in Barrick drin, Hebel unter 10.

so was von zum kotzen, mein KO Zertifikat mit Schwelle bei 26$ war schon bei 50% im Plus und dann kam der Abverkauf von Gold und der Aktienkurs fiel auf 25,8$ um von dort hoch zu schiessen. Zum Glück bin ich über Wikifolios stark in Goldminen investiert, aber hier sind ein paar Tausend €uro verloren -.-
