Advent Technologies Receives Notification of Euro 782.1 Million Funding from the Greek State for IPCEI Green HiPo Project

BOSTON, June 16, 2022--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADN) ("Advent"), an innovation-driven leader in the fuel cell and hydrogen technology space, is pleased to announce that it has received notification from the Greek State for funding under the Important Projects of Common European Interest ("IPCEI") Hydrogen – Technology, Green HiPo. The notification from the Greek State has been sent to the European Union ("EU") under the IPCEI framework. Upon EU ratification, total funding of euro 782.1 million for Advent’s Green HiPo project will be made available over a period of six years, as submitted in accordance with the following schedule.............

Advent Technologies announce $821M, six-year fuel cell project in Greece

Cambridge-based Advent Technologies on Thursday announced that Greek officials have approved funding for what is the equivalent of an $821 million project to develop fuel cells and electrolyzers in the Western Macedonia region over six years. 

Pending ratification by the European Union, the funds will go toward a new facility and the development of fuel cell and green hydrogen production, spurring economic development and bolstering the region’s transition from a coal-fueled economy, Advent said.

Advent (NASDAQ: ADN) says its six-year Green HiPo project will deliver 400 megawatts of fuel cell heat and power production. The project received preliminary approval from Greek economic and energy officials in September along with an estimated $8 billion euro (approximately $8.5B USD) proposal, by a consortium that includes Advent, to replace Greece’s biggest coal-fired plants with 4.65 gigawatts of solar energy parks backed by green hydrogen production................................
